okay fine...

Texas wasn't all that bad. I mean, it wasn't GOOD; there's nothin' but armadillos and girls with short shorts and their hair parted to the side there, but it really wasn't that bad. If I'm being honest, I kind of had a blast at recruiting "boot camp." I met some super cool folks, one even a native Texan who I thought was the bomb; and I basically partied like a rock star all week long.

Observations??

Houston had the best margaritas I've had in my life; all five places I tried them at. Lots of tequila, not too limey; good structure.

The sales tax is like 1%.

There are no skinny dudes in Texas. Probably because the food is 4X the size of normal portions. I actually witnessed a girl attempt to eat a plate of nachos that came up to her nose. I was sitting across the table from her and had to lean to the side when speaking to her to get past her nachos.

They dance well. sorta. The bars are crowded... "butts to nuts".

and yes... they really are ALL *republicans*. EEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!

That's it. Glad to be home but not at all the hideous torture I was partly anticipating.

Drake and I are leaving for Toronto and Montreal in 2 weeks for a quick week getaway. Can't wait. I'll report back with the scoop.

Messin' with Texas

Getting back to the roots of this blog as intended to be a travel blog, thought I'd note that I'm heading off to Texas this afternoon to shove a sharp stick far up my ass, rope some cattle, get some 4 foot tall bang extensions held up solely by the magic that is Aquanet, and pay homage to George W. Bush. Oh wait! that's just totally absurd. Truth of it is - I *am* being forced to reside in Texas for the following week for some Technical "Boot Camp" training for my new job. After 9 years in this business, I say it's about damn time I learn how to recruit! :) I like free training; not at all a fan of Texas. I got a new camera phone yesterday so that I could capture any alarmingly captivating photo ops. I'll be sure to share in the rare event that it actually happens, taking into consideration any technical difficulties in making the big ass Texan hair fit into the screen of my camera. Wish me luck. No... scratch that. In the name of Texas and Georgie W... pray for me.
